This Bill passed unanimously and urges the US Congress to ease the visa application process for Chinese visitors to the United States. Current US policy makes if very difficult and costly for Chinese business people and citizens to obtain visas. This has a negative effect on Oregon's prospects of trade and tourism.

"Seeds planted during past Oregon trade missions to China are sprouting.

A 10-person Oregon delegation, including state Rep. Dennis Richardson, Southern Oregon University President Mary Cullinan and Bob Cockell, director of operations for Air Rescue Systems of Ashland, nurtured the budding relationship during a 12-day visit this month.

If all goes to form, there will soon be a jump in the Chinese student population at SOU, more Chinese helicopter pilots will visit the Rogue Valley for training and ever-increasing amounts of Oregon agricultural products will flow to the world's most populous nation."
